Quiet, clean. It's a public library. Go in grab a book and sit down or take it home. Friendly staff.
If you are deciding to move to Southbury, ask real estate agent to give you library tour or visit it by yourself. You will be even more ready to sign that house purchase agreement:)
It is very spacious, with various sections, cathedral ceiling reading room with real (gas) fireplace, conference rooms, teen section, movie screening theater, ongoing visual arts exhibits, etc. etc.
Great place to get cheap books and vhs tapes during their sales. They wnd up selling by the bag at the end since they need to get rid of everything. If you go to a library go to this one!
The Southbury Public Library, built in 2006, is a fantastic facility, a gem, a real quality of life added value, something local citizens can really be proud of and enjoy. It is also very large for the town of 19,000 in a great, formal architectural style.
There different guest speakers and workshops every month. Great spot for all ages.
Such a beautiful spacious library, tastefully built with a homey feel. Plenty of space indoors whether it is by the fireplace or outisde patio to sit in peace. Staff are always friendly and willing to help. Huge selection of titles with a whole top floor dedicated just to teens and kids. MANY types of programs and events happening too. Just another reason why I love living in Southbury!
